Lwazi joined Roadlab on 1 July 2021 on the N1 Maholisi project as a Senior Materials Tester.

Specialising in BSM, soil, and asphalt testing, his attention to detail and respect for correct testing procedures set him apart led to his promotion to Laboratory Supervisor, where he took responsibility for reviewing raw data, ensuring accuracy before submission, and training technicians to apply test methods consistently and correctly.

Following Maholisi, Lwazi moved to the Redstone Solar Project between Uniondale and Postmasburg — one of the largest solar developments in Southern Africa.

 Here, his technical capability and leadership were again recognised, earning him promotion to Assistant Branch Manager, along with responsibility for data capturing and quality oversight. Under his leadership, the team reinforced confidence in Roadlab on this signature project.

In July 2023, Lwazi transferred to the East London Branch, continuing as Assistant Branch Manager.

Since then, he has pushed himself technically, deepened his understanding of standards and procedures, and worked deliberately toward achieving Technical Signatory status — a reflection of disciplined testing, strong systems, and committed leadership.

From technician to Branch Manager, he has made his mark on national energy projects and major infrastructure across the Eastern Cape.
