Roadlab’s dedicated Afungi laboratory is accredited by Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. (PJLA) to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for the specific testing activities listed in its approved scope of accreditation.

The laboratory will provide field and laboratory testing relating to soils, concrete and construction materials. Testing represented as accredited is limited to the specific methods and activities included in the laboratory’s current PJLA scope of accreditation.

Our Work

Roadlab’s Afungi laboratory will provide testing and material quality-assurance services in support of contractors working on the project. Accredited testing is limited to the activities included in the laboratory’s approved PJLA scope of accreditation.

These services include field and laboratory testing relating to earthworks, soils and concrete. Additional services falling outside the approved scope will not be represented as PJLA-accredited activities.

Both in-field in and in-lab testing will be available, and our Afungi team will be supported by Roadlab E Serviços Limitada, our operation in Mozambique.

An Accredited Laboratory

While accreditation is a routine part of our operations, this particular achievement holds special significance.

Located in a remote area of the Cabo Delgado province, the logistical hurdles of this effort were formidable.

A difficult task was made more complex by a language barrier (the local language is Portuguese) and the implementation of testing standards by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).

This unique challenge and success represents another milestone in our efforts to deliver insight and testing in Africa that would inspire confidence anywhere on the planet.
